Create some Space! On Kerning

Something as small as simple spacing between letters, and something I largely think about regarding calligraphy, in how tedious the process must be. Yet sometimes whenever we write papers on our own, reflex tends to space letters for us a decent amount. Well use of spacing when dragging letters is done with the point of the reader not recognizing it, something easier said than done, especially when certain portals have no measure of kerning (I'm looking at you, Illustrator), when trying to put different letters next to one another.

Treated as another art form entirely, kerning is adjusting the space between certain letters in order to achieve better readability, such as certain typefaces looking more appealing in one certain size over others, or more presentable in a book rather than a magazine. For example, there can be issues with font sites as their kerning can be off, leading to a reading experience that feels a little... off.

However, I am terrified of touching kerning manually, as it has to be done with a very precise, watchful eye and can be completely ruined if moved a little too far to one side. In large posters or advertisements, kerning is particularly front and center as the text has to be as readable as possible if it is going to be taking up an entire window or door, for that matter.
